Good for a couple getaway

The staff were surprisingly friendly, especially the owner. The room was clean and had some nice little touches like extra hooks and shelving, something you don't find in many places.

It wasn't overpriced but still on the higher side for what you get.

Nice base for exploring Iona. Newly remodelled and little hotel with a warm breakfast selection. Wonderful location in Iona near yummy food and liquor store, a park and the museum next door. Also, on the hill.

The location offers amazing views of the Bras d'Or lakes. Our room was comfortable and equipped with a handy alarm clock providing calming sounds, perfect for a good night's sleep. The food at the onsite pub was standout. It really enhanced our experience. We were very pleased overall.

I had air-conditioned, modern room with very comfy beds, gorgeous view. The staff from start to finish were very helpful. Central location of this good basic hotel was a bonus. I ate at the rustic restaurant near the property.

Heights inn offers a beautiful location with fine views of the bras d'or lakes. The room was comfy and had everything we needed, especially the handy alarm clock with soothing sounds for a good night's rest. I loved the food at the onsite pub. It was delicious.

The best and worst parts

Fine views! Friendly staff. The beds were comfy and the onsite pub served delicious food. The option of soothing sounds from the alarm clock was a thoughtful addition.

The bathrooms showed signs of age and required updates. The room lighting could use improvement, and the check-in process felt a bit chaotic at times. Traffic noise was noticeable from the nearby store.

I had a fantastic time soaking in the vibrant atmosphere as I enjoyed the live music and friendly chats with locals during the cèilidh, and the fine view from my balcony every morning made my stay nice.

The room was spacious and cozy, with a beautiful view of the Bras d'Or Lake. The kids loved the pool area, and the staff were super friendly. We enjoyed the delicious food at the onsite pub and even got to experience some local music during dinner, a hit with the kids.

The location is a bit remote.

The attached pub serves great local food, and I highly recommend trying the local beer-they're both delicious and a nice way to end your day.

The location of Heights Inn is fine, offering beautiful views of the Bras d'Or Lakes. The room felt cozy with a comfortable bed, mini fridge, and coffee maker. Enjoyed the onsite pub, where the food was delicious. The bathroom could use some attention. The shower temperature fluctuated between freezing and boiling, frustrating. I noticed that the cleanliness needed improvement. There were some crumbs on the floor when we arrived. Despite these issues, the staff was friendly, and the ambiance was nice. Would recommend for the location and comfort, but improvements in maintenance and cleanliness are necessary.
